Welcome to my Web site!

Photography has been in Christoph's blood from an early age and more or less absorbed the interest in photography from his father.

But it wasn't until the year 2000 when his wife Elizabeth gave him a Canon 5QD, a 100mm macro lens and a ring light for his birthday that he became passionate about his photography.  A new camera and a trip of lifetime to the Amazon in Peru in December of 2000 combined to jump start his passion about photography.

Christoph had already been a very avid carnivorous plant enthusiast, having grown over 200 species of carnivorous plants in the late 1980s.  With a new camera, Christoph decided to focus more on the photographic beauty of carnivorous plants.  He still grows many plants including Sarracenia, Drosera, some Utricularia, Nepenthes and Pinguicula.  On occasion he takes trips to local carnivorous plant habitats and photographs whatever he can find.  Some of the more recent images can be found in the galleries.

9/11 more or less had a profound impact on Christoph as he witnessed the second plane crashing into the World Trade Center; his building was less than 0.5 mile from the World Trade Center.  It was during the following year, that he decided to really focus on the things that he really enjoys in life: spending time with his family, Elizabeth and Nicolas, and continuing with the photographic tradition (learned from his father) by combining this with his love for birding and carnivorous plant horticulture.  Hey, you never know when next minute is your last!

So, I hope you take some time to enjoy the galleries - perhaps you will even see why I find carnivorous plants so fascinatingly beautiful.

Hope you enjoy.
